Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (RUDN)

Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN) is one of the biggest and leading universities, has the status of the University of a Federal Level.  Peoples' Friendship University was founded on 5 February, 1960 by the USSR Government. On 22 February, 1961, the University was named after Patrice Lumumba - one of the symbols of the African peoples' fight for independence.

The university is generally situated in the south-west of Moscow.

The main peculiarity of RUDN is its multinationality: there are representatives of 450 nationalities from 158 countries of the world among students, postgraduates and probationers. In the rooms of the hostels there observed an international principle: representatives of different nationalities study and live together. Totally about 30 000 students and postgraduates study here.

Many students are members of national student associations, as well as student councils of faculties, hostels and campus. They are also actively involved in the work of the Women's committee, «Druzhba» sport club and other international organizations, which assist students in solving various problems, hold numerous national and international exhibitions , festivals, sport competitions and other cultural and social events. The University has adopted Codes of Honor for teachers, students and employees.
