Samara State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering



Samara State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering founded in 1930 is one of the most highly regarded engineering universities in Russia. The studies began on the 25th October 1930. At that time the Institute included 2 vocational colleges and 3 workers' courses (rabfak). At first the Institute trained students only in one field of industrial and civil engineering. In 1951 it was transformed into Hydraulic Engineering Institute as the country needed specialists to build numerous hydro-power stations. In 1955 it was again renamed into the Institute of Civil Engineering. In April 1990 the Institute became the Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering, later (since in 1995-2004) Academy of Architecture and Civil Engineering. In 2004 it received its current status of Samara State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering.

 SSUACE strives to connect its values and mission to the needs of Samara and the Volga Region. Samara State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering currently offers about 40 degree programmes: Bachelor Degree (4 years) and Master Degree (2 years) programmes as well as postgraduate studies (Candidate of Science, Doctor of Science).

SSUACE currently has an enrolment of about 7,500 undergraduate students. SSUACE has 10 Faculties, and 37 Departments. SSUACE also has two branches - Open Institute (SSUACE Branch) in Pokhvistnevo (Samara Region) and Open Institute (SSUACE Branch) in Belebey (Bashkortostan).
